Hotel Details
Chevron Fare heavens Nainital City: Nainital Fairhavens an important landmark since 1920, is conveniently located at a ten minutes walk from the mall. It provides the much wanted respite from the run-of-the mill hotels and is spread over two acres of land. Built in the splendour of stone and wood, it perpetuates the great colonial heritage in which character and cultivated lifestyle are the basic standards of hospitality. These standards have steadily grown with the expectations of our guests who are now habitual to all conceivable comforts and services. Chevron Rosemount, Ranikhet City: Ranikhet Chevron Rosemount is housed in a 110 year old bungalow. Built in traditional Kumaoni style, it undulates to many levels, has stone walls, the floors are wood and the ceilings very high. Much of the old furniture and accessories have been retained, consequently, the hotel has thick, dark wood furniture, coarse golden electric switches and tall windows with skylights. The 14 rooms are divided into the categories of Deluxe rooms, Pine View Deluxe rooms, Nirvana Suite and Independent Cottage Suite. The Pine View Deluxe rooms have a charming window seat overlooking the vista of the snow peaks. The rooms are incredibly large and sport the century old furniture. There is a quaint mantle over the fireplace and an antiquated writing table adorns a corner. Rugs are spread over the creaking wooden floor and an old-world dressing table adds to the charm of the room. Amenities here include telephone and television with satellite connection.
| NEW DELHI |
|
After India gained independence in 1947, a limited autonomy was conferred to New Delhi and was administered by a Chief Commissioner appointed by the Government of India. In 1956, Delhi was converted into a union territory and eventually the Chief Commissioner was replaced by a Lieutenant Governor. The Constitution (Sixty-ninth Amendment) Act, 1991 declared the Union Territory of Delhi to be formally known as National Capital Territory of Delhi.[4] A system of diarchy was introduced under which the elected Government was given wide powers, excluding law and order which remained with the Central Government. The actual enforcement of the legislation came in 1993. Â |
